    How to Remove a Bankruptcy from Your Credit Report

It’s quite simple really:

    First, you send off for a copy of all 3 of your credit reports (Equifax, Experian, Transunion) and analyze the credit reports once you receive them. You are looking for anything you wish to dispute such as public records (bankruptcy), foreclosures, charge-offs, late payments, and so on. Circle or make a list of everything you want removed.

    Second, write letters (a separate letter for each item) to each of the 3 credit bureaus. Many “free bankruptcy dispute letters” or “free credit report dispute letters” and templates can be found online. Make sure to write the letters right away - especially if you are attempting to remove or delete a bankruptcy, which is the most difficult item to remove. Removing a bankruptcy can take months…so get started now.

    Third, when the credit bureaus repsond to your letters (they have to)…respond right away with another one of the templates you can acquire online for free.

    Forth, rinse and repeat. Keep trying, be patient, and eventually they might remove your bankruptcy, foreclosure, late payments, excessive inquiries, etc from your credit report.

    I have tried this whole process of how to remove a bankruptcy myself, but I finally hired a company to do it because it got too tedious for me to keep up with the letters. “DIY credit repair” isn’t easy and is very time consuming. It’s your choice, though… Do it yourself or find a credit repair company you trust and let them lighten the load for you.
